Similarities and differences from Classical Magazines
In my research of classical music, I decided to compare 2 different types of classical music magazines, which were called ‘music’ and ‘classical music’. I noticed that both magazines include the word music, this makes the purpose of the magazine clear to its readers and its audience, then again ‘classical magazine’ builds more of an understanding of the purpose and genre of the magazine by using the word ‘classical’. This automatically attracts fans of classical music. Similarly in both magazines, they both feature famous classical musicians, on their front pages. I believe that the reason that famous classical artists have been placed boldly on the front pages is so that it can attract fans who listen to these specific artists, to buy the magazine and therefore the magazine will become more popular to its selected target audience. As I am a business student, I am aware that the magazine is aiming for at niche market. A niche market is where something is targeted directly at a segment of the population, in the case of this magazine they are aiming at people who listen to classical music.
